WASHINGTON, D.C. – In commemoration of the third anniversary of the infamous Downing Street Meeting, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., along with Representatives Hinchey, Lee, McDermott, Waters, Becerra, Frank, Rangel, and Tom Udall, will host town hall meetings nationwide to discuss the manipulation of prewar intelligence, the unclassified Downing Street Minutes, White House improprieties committed by Karl Rove and other Bush Administration officials, and the war in Iraq.

On July 23rd, Saturday at 9 a.m. there will be a teach in about the Downing Street Memo at Steve's apartment building, 790 Washington @ the Party room, 15th floor. To sign up for this event go to: DownStreetMemo.org

Then a march and rally:

10:30AM

Skyline Park (16th & Arapahoe)

The purpose is to draw attention and make passersby on the street ask "What is this Downing Street thing all about?" and demand coverage of the memo in the media.

For full independent coverage of this scandal go to After Downing Street, and sign courageous House Representative John Conyers' letter to Bush.

More ways you can help:

*Call Senators Allard (303-220-7414) and Salazar (303-455-7600) and ask them to sign John Kerry's letter about this memo. Capitol Hill toll-free line: 1-888-355-3588

* Harass the local news media! Ask them why you haven't heard about the memo in the news. Write letters to the editor of thePost, News and Westword.

It's amazing how much information has come to light on the Rove conspiracy to harm American national security. Those who follow these events should know that such daily blogged sites like DailyKos.com, Eschaton, and many other sites have shown that it has now come down to this essential question: What did the President know and when did he know it?

Do I smell the beginning storm for impeachment?

I have been pretty busy this summer with work and volunteering for the ACLU in Colorado. The ACLU in Colorado has just concluded a very successful fundraiser- The Liberty Run/Walk and Festival of Rights on July 4th. It has over 30 percent more people participate then last year with our fundraising goal reaching well over 150 percent of our target. Congratualations to all who participated, volunteers, and staff who made this event a very big success.

I have been a volunteer for the ACLU for only the last three months. It is a a very rewarding experience so far. Most recently I have represented the ACLU at a social event sponsored by a new Denver, Colorado based group Liberals and Progressives United (of which I was on the steering committee, too) that was hosted by the Mercury Cafe on July 16th. For a first event by Liberals and Progressives United, it was quite successful. There were a number of groups that had information readily available for attendees and with the music of world beat, salsa, and raggae throughout the beautiful evening people were happy and many new contacts were made.

Finally, I have written a new poem about life and death and the Tyrant's bellyaching about it being a "hard job".

Army Specialist Casey Austin Sheehan

”Hard work is seeing your son's murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you're enjoying the last supper you'll ever truly enjoy again.”

Those ghosts- those terrible ghosts

With the burden of injustice to carry

Eating at the conscience of this nation

“Hard work is having three military officers come to your house a few hours later to confirm the aforementioned murder of your son, your first-born, your kind and gentle sweet baby.”

With the spade and shovel

To bury the flesh of their offspring-

While a wannabe Uncle Joe clowns around

Looking for WMD under Lincoln’s bed

“Hard work is burying your child 46 days before his 25th birthday.”

Remorseless numbers- once more of the body count

While those who are maimed and rendered sightless

Fly under cover of darkest night back to our nation

Out of sight or thought of their Commander-in-Chief

“Hard work is holding your other three children as they lower the body of their big (brother) into the ground.”

So many freshly dug graves, no matter the season

Are but a small cost in his resurrecting the Great Game

To puff out his chest, wearing the flag of patriotism

Using fear and loathing to divide and conquer a nation

While using his mute god to desecrate our Constitution

“Hard work is not jumping in the grave with him and having the earth cover you both”

Our hardest, longest, and most dangerous work

Now lies before us

We must now serve the demands of the founding fathers-

The President, Vice President and all

Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let Truth be the Prejudice.

See you on July 23 at the teach-in and rally.
